Paleo Collection

The paleo collection is my most eclectic collection that ranges from the whimsical gingerbread dinosaur ornaments, to the more realistic fossil plates and makes a few stops in between.  The paleo collection is a love letter to dinosaurs and keeps in mind all of the adults that love dinosaurs but don't want their houses to look like the bedroom of a 10 year old.  I want every piece to be an interesting conversation starter, but still remain something that could be pulled out and used at a dinner party.  Everything in the collection is crafted from beautiful materials that are very textural to hold and reminiscent of the rock that you can find these fossils in.

The fossil plates are based on actual fossil specimens from collections around the world, and are intended to look "in-situ".  I intend them to give the feeling of a fossil laying buried or on a rock wall. I want them to feel more like the fossils that you would see at Dinosaur National Monument and less like the articulated skeletons you might find at the Field Museum.  While both types of specimens are fabulous in their own right, there is something unique to the way a fossil lies buried just waiting to be uncovered, or cleaned up and allowed to exist how it has lain for millions of years.  I create a digital illustrations of real world fossils that I can use to design very large 3D printed stamps.

The strat column mugs have been a labor of love and have been in development for several years.  Through a combination of carving, custom stamps, and creative glazing and waxing techniques, these mugs are all a little different but pass through a variety of geologic regimes and time periods.
